Function and Function
(1) Fuel vapor recovery control
The gasoline in the vehicle's fuel tank will naturally evaporate, producing fuel vapors (HC hydrocarbons).
The activated carbon canister is responsible for adsorbing these vapors, avoiding direct discharge into the atmosphere (reducing pollution).
The function of blowing the solenoid valve is to send the fuel vapor stored in the charcoal canister into the engine for combustion at the appropriate time, rather than directly discharging it into the air.
(2) ECU intelligent control of fuel vapor entering the engine
The solenoid valve is controlled to open and close by the ECU (Engine Control Module) through PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) signals.
Usually opened during engine warm-up and medium to high load conditions, allowing fuel vapor to enter the intake manifold and participate in combustion.
Avoid introducing too much steam during cold start or idle, which may affect the stability of the air-fuel ratio.
(3) Maintain fuel tank pressure balance
When the steam in the fuel tank is extracted, the opening of the solenoid valve can prevent the formation of negative pressure in the fuel tank (to avoid an increase in the workload of the fuel pump).
At the same time, the EVAP system monitors the fuel vapor pressure to ensure no leaks (such as triggering a fault code if the fuel tank cap is not tightened).
