This set includes four antique sharpening stones, two of which are Behr - Manning "Norton" brand from 1954 both in their original high quality cardboard 2 piece boxes ,The larger of the Norton Brand is an SB-4 measuring 2"×4"×1" high soft oil stone on all sides and edges. One 4" Coastal Stone Most likely the oldest stone here just by the illustration on the front cover and labled (4" Sharpening Stone Vitrified aluminum oxide) with original slip over box with a light abrasive to it. It looks as though the coastal may have been made in Georgia. I can see what looks like a G.A. on box. We also have a Smith's smooth oil stone missing the wooden top i believe which just covers ston for storage when not using. The smaller Behr - Manning by Norton has two different sides which can work your knives blade to an even and consistent sharp edge . They come in a variety of colors including brown, grey, and black, and are all original pieces. The dexterity required to use these stones is ambidextrous and the smith's is made with a wood handle. These stones were manufactured in the United States. 3 of the 4 are antiques. The 2 Nortons are about 75 years young and i believe the coastal may be closer to a century old but can't find a year on it and are a great addition to any collection of various sharpening stones which can also be used on blade parts, supplies, Cutlery and any metal accessories which need sharpening. If you made it to the end of this long description you are an extremely patient person and thank you. AS always, Please refer to photos for condition and feel free to ask any questions.
