Shimano Deore XT SM-RT86 Ice-Tech Rotors 6-Bolts (All RT86 Were Made in Japan)
DEORE XT Ice-Tech rotors (160, 180 and 203mm) have a three layer sandwich structure of an aluminum core embedded in stainless steel. The higher heat dissipation of the aluminum helps to reduce the surface temperature of the rotor by around 100 degrees Celsius. Optional Ice-Tech brake pads with aluminum cooling fins can reduce the brake pad surface temperature by another 50 degrees. The result is high stopping power and practically no signs of fading
Shimano Deore XT RT81/RT-MT800 Ice-Tech Freeza Disc Centerlock
The Shimano Deore XT RT-MT800 brake disc uses the successful Ice-Technologies Freeza design to decrease the temperatures while braking what results in a consistent braking performance even in the most demanding conditions and increases the brake pad's lifetime as well. The basis of the construction is the disc's so called sandwich structure (stainless steel - aluminium - stainless steel) which not only improves braking power and reliability, but also effectively dissipates the heat via the integrated cooling fins.
