All the benefits of Shellac but it's "knot". It's "Knot" Shellac minimizes grain raise, blocks tannins, and provides an overall even, non-blotchy coverage for stain as a pre-stain conditioner. It penetrates & seals wood grain fibers, creating a waterproof barrier that can be used on bare wood as well as under paints and top coats.

Instructions

  1. Environment: Apply in an environment between 68-75ºF.
  2. Preparation: Sand bare wood with 220 grit sandpaper.
  3. Application: Apply one coat of It’s Knot Shellac and allow to dry. Lightly scuff-sand to remove any raised grain fibers. Apply an additional 1-2 coats to seal wood and provide an excellent surface that is ready to paint or topcoat.
  4. Dry Time: Allow 1-2 hours of drying time between coats.

It’s “Knot” Shellac can be used in place of a primer for sealing stains and blocking tannins.

  • Store at room temperature in a dry place, out of direct sunlight.
  • Do not subject the product to freezing or hot temperatures.
  • CrystaLac products have a shelf life of 5 years after opening.
  • Use in an environment above 68ºF.
