Will Work on Diesel Engines?
No
Diesel vehicles do not have spark plugs or distributor, so this timing lights will not work on diesel engines

Will Work on 6-Volt System?
Yes
On 6-volt electrical systems, use an auxiliary 12-volt battery to power timing light. Connect BLACK clip to negative (-) post and RED clip to positive (+) post on auxiliary 12- volt batter
