In box, appears new or nearly new. Ray Smeck Uke. Wood color is mahogany but I can't be positive of actual wood type. Marking reading "Ray Smeck Uke, the Harmony Company, Chicago U.S.A." In what appears to be the original corrugated cardboard that reads "...124" "Made in Japan." Appears to be completely original. In excellent condition.
Comes with some interesting ephemera. A small paper bag reading "Little Music Store Macomb Ill." A booklet entitled "Illustrated 5-Minute Guaranteed Ukulele Course" copyrighted 1952. A small paper tag that appears to have been attached to the ukulele when purchased with instructions on how to keep the pegs from slipping. Also a single sheet document copyrighted 1931 by the Harmony Company with illustrations on "learn these simple chords - practice them frequently."
