I obtained this from a house clean out in Minneapolis, MN and this item was sent home by Earl Hill who was a medical officer with the 158th Infantry regiment (Bushmasters).
Overall condition is very good for the age. The P38 sits directly on the rod attached to the base and can be easily removed.
Very find details to this piece including the engraved markings on the back end. Exterior shows wear from use and age.
The bottom shell portion that attaches to the base has been repaired at some point.
