These new budget line 10x12" soft inserts are still level IIIa ballistic rated construction. And our budget are the same as the standard line of nearly every other seller on ebay. Made with 100% spectra (UHDPE). Spectra is 40% light and 20% stronger than kevlar. These are very light, about 14 ounces, and about 1/4" thick. Perfect to use in your plate carrier, vest, small backpack, bookbag, laptop case or other bag. Price is for 1 insert. Discount if you buy pairs, see quantity. Stock photo. General information on ballistics: NIJ testing is done on size small through large vest panels. Anything smaller is not certified. Our smaller items are made of the exact same construction as our hybrid plus vest panels and are listed as IIIa construction. Our hybrid plus IIIa vest panel has been has been tested by H.P. White and found to pass the NIJ IIIa Standard-0101.06 ballistic test for .44 magnum.
Ebay requires every listing to state “This model complies with NIJ IIIa Standard-0101.06 for Ballistic Resistance of Body Armor” even if they do not meet that standard. If they do not contain this statement the listings can be removed. So be sure you are getting armor actually tested to the standard.
