- Grading is as follows:
- A: Considered best quality, minimal sun fade, natural color, no cracks.
- B: Hard White, some brown, minimal cracking, good overall.
- C: Chalk, some cracks, white, retains weight.
- D: Least desirable, heavy cracking, sun bleached.
If you're looking into a purchase as a dog-chew, please consider A or B grade Elk or Deer antlers. Moose, while nutritious can be softer, and more fragile. Any antler will deteriorate over time when used as a chew, or when exposed to moisture, sunlight and other harsh environments.
