DESCRIPTION
Wonderful Native American ash splint hooded basket cradle. Penobscot / Wabanaki origin. Formed of ash splints, fastened with tiny clinched-over tacks. Red and green dyed strands. Zigzag decorated slats in the base.
CONDITION
Overall excellent. Some small broken splints. Structurally sturdy, sound and intact. Slight age fading. Rich, caramel surface patina (all visible in the images). A FINE AND RARE EASTERN WOODLANDS NATIVE AMERICAN CRADLE BASKET!
