HOW TO PLANT NASTURTIUM SEEDS

ABOUT NASTURTIUM

  • Beautiful and beneficial, Nasturtiums are often planted as companions to vegetables as they can help to repel harmful pests.
  • Not only do Nasturtiums produce gorgeous blooms- the blooms are also edible and have a peppery, almost mustard-like taste.

WHEN TO PLANT NASTURTIUM SEEDS

  • Sow seeds outdoors after all danger of frost has passed or indoors 4-6 weeks prior to the last spring frost date.

WHERE TO PLANT NASTURTIUM SEEDS

  • Nasturtiums perform best in full sun, in average, slightly acidic, well-drained soils.
  • Light shade is tolerated in hot summer areas. Nasturtiums do better in soil of moderate to low fertility.

HOW TO PLANT NASTURTIUM SEEDS

  • Be sure to scarify (nick the outer shell) and soak your Nasturtium seeds overnight (about 12 hours) to help seedlings break through the tough outer shell.
  • Sow seeds about 1/2" deep and 10-12" apart in the garden if direct sowing.
  • If starting indoors, transplant after seedlings emerge, after 7-10 days, and space as you would if direct sowing.

HOW TO CARE FOR NASTURTIUM

  • Water regularly throughout the growing season, but be careful not to overwater.
  • Deadhead your plants to prolong blooming.
  • If maintaining your nasturtiums in containers, they'll need to be trimmed back occasionally to promote new foliage.
  •  Leaves and flowers can be harvested anytime, using scissors to avoid damaging the plants.

Leaving Feedback for your seller.  eBay guidelines:

  • When you receive your seeds please leave a positive for us.
  • If you have any problem at all no need to leave neutral or negative – message me and we will fix it!
  • What should I consider before rating a seller's performance?
  • In general, here's what you should be thinking about when leaving Feedback for a seller:
  • Did you get what you were expecting, based on the item description?
  • Was the item packaged appropriately (to prevent damage during shipping)?
  • Did the seller ship the item within the timeframe indicated in the listing? (Remember that USPS is experiencing delays due to Covid.)
  • Were the shipping and handling costs reasonable? They are FREE!
  • If you communicated with the seller, were your questions or concerns addressed?
  • Did the seller respond within a reasonable amount of time?
  • Before you consider leaving a negative give the seller a chance to fix the problem.  Negative Feedback directly impacts their business.
  • If you don’t get your item within 10 working days message me directly.  You do not need to do an Ebay claim – just message.  Give me 48 hours to answer please and I will refund or reship.
  • Please read the planting instructions!  Some seeds require cold stratification. Some Perennials probably will not bloom until the 2nd year.
