This Artifact is an 12 inch long example of a "MANNED FLIGHT RATED" segment of Kapton insulated Nickel high temperature wire.

Kapton is an extremely durable and high temperature insulation material.

Nickel multi-stranded conductors are used too allow all electrical connections to be crimped instead of the less reliable soldering methods. 

Charles H Bell was the original owner of the space item.
