This mixture with a combination of lentils, vegetables and spices makes for a delicious accompaniment with Dosas, Idlis, Pappadums or simply plain hot rice. Sambar is an essential dish in a South Indian meal or Thali. Traditionally garnished with finely chopped coriander/cilantro leaves.
