The sanctity of the place and vessels of a tzaddik are the same as when the tzaddik actually used them, soul-in-body" (the Rebbe)

Beautiful piece, bits of yarn, from the Admo"r Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson of Lubavitch's personal  gartel tallit kattan that he wrapped around his pure body, under his clothing, over his  tallit kattan per the Chaba"d custom. First-rate Chassidic ritual item.

The gartel was given as a gift to one of the prominent rabbis of Chaba"d in the Holy Land by Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka Schneerson's attendant, Rabbi Chanayah Sinai David (חס"ד) Halberstam, shlit"a. The gartel was Divided into parts and pieces of thread, and carefully packaged.

The great virtues of a tzaddikim’s belongings are a tremendous segulah. These matters are well-known and there is no need to add more words (refer to Yerushalmi Nedarim 29b, Keter Shem Tov 194,  Shu"t Chatam Sofer and more) Chaba"d literature also discusses the power of belongings of tzaddikim, even posthumously. For example, Rabbi Menachem Mendel ( Likkutei Sichot 32 pp 19-27): "The sanctity of the place and vessels of the tzaddik are the same [posthumously] as when the tzaddik actually used them, soul-in-body" and more."

Yet the Chassidic gartel is doubly lofty, both because it is a ritual item that most characterizes the Chassidic movement (despite its source being in halachah). It is primarily for the gartel's spiritual role, especially according to the Chassidic interpretation, mainly that of Chaba"d doctrine. In the diaries of the Rebbe's wedding, it is told that before the chuppah, the Rayya"tz wrapped the avnet around his son-in-law, the Rebbe, and said to him: "With this, I have bound you to me, for now and forever"! Refer also to Sefer HaLikkutim D'A"ch Tzemach Tzeddek (under the letter אל"ף - the entry אבנט, p. 81 onward): There it is told that the spiritual aspect of the avnet references the sephirah of malchut and its role is to bind and connect the "clothes" and the "body." The Tzemach Tzeddek brings a verse from Yirmiyahu as proof: כַּאֲשֶׁר יִדְבַּק הָאֵזוֹר אֶל מָתְנֵי אִישׁ כֵּן הִדְבַּקְתִּי אֵלַי אֶת כָּל בֵּית יִשְׂרָאֵל.  [Just as a belt is fastened to one's loins, so I fastened myself to the entire house of Israel.]

Chaba"d Chassidism maintains that the Rebbe affirmed three things about himself. One was that he was always wrapped in two  gartelach. Could there be a greater segulah than a piece of the Rebbe's personal  gartel, which he wrapped consistently around his sacred body every hour of the day? (It is segulah to find one's spouse, as the  gartel is worn after the wedding, and a segulah for authority, as the  gartel references the  sephirah of  malchut, a segulah for cleanliness and cardiac health, as the  gartel atones for [inappropriate] thoughts of the heart.) Is there greater connection to the Rebbe than his personal  avnet, with which he bound himself to the Creator every day?

piece of gartel, several threads.
