| DESCRIPTION | These little silver stamp boxes are usually late Victorian or Edwardian. Here we have a faithful modern reproduction except that the glass is now a plastic so will not break. Nicely gilded internally and the lid is fitted with a strong spring. In fact, the spring is so strong that when I propped up the lid to show the gilding the lid temporarily twisted a bit. The hallmarks are tiny but can be read with a suitable lens. |
