Mini Cooper R53 Cup Holder Lower Hinge Replacement 2002-2006

Replacement hinge for mini cooper r53 cup holder. This is a custom replacement bracket for the bottom hinge that often breaks. Easy to install, slot the hinge into the base of the holder and then the metal holder after. Best practice is to not turn the cupholder 90* after installation to keep stiffness. The original was injected molded which allowed it to bend more and thus rotate the cupholder when assembled, but when it became brittle became a source of failure.
