Our M1 Carbine Sling with Oiler is completely faithful to the early horseshoe type 1st issue slings. These dot the eye fastener, khaki web slings are exactly as per the original WWII issue. The oiler has the shaped dipper and gasket. For those who are unfamiliar, the oiler fits in the slot in the M1 Carbine buttstock and the rear portion of the sling loops around the oiler from the other side. The front portion of the sling goes through the sling swivel on the forend and closes with the "dot the eye" fastener.
To secure sling, make sure and snug sling around oiler and pull deep into groove, so it hugs the oiler tightly. You can unscrew the oiler to create more resistance, if needed.
