Offered for your consideration is a lot of eight (8) vintage Pentel R68 Ball Pentel rollerball pens, USA-manufactured c.1990. These Ball Pentel pens have an ivory-colored plastic barrel, black plastic end caps, steel clips, and the revolutionary cushioned rollerball tip that was introduced, I believe, on their Rolling Writer. They feature a promotion for Abbott Laboratories Tranxene, an anxiety and mood disorder medication.

These eight Pentel R68 pens are in clean, very good condition. They measure 5 9/16” long capped, a full 6½” with cap posted atop, and ½” at widest. There are no cracks, chips, or dings noted to the caps and barrels, just some expected minor signs of use. Plus, the clips shine nicely with no undue oxidation and rest properly on the caps with no gaps. Also, six of the pens have well-preserved Abbott Tranxene graphics, one is nearly worn away, and one is practically missing altogether, as pictured. Overall, these Ball Pentel pens present quite nicely.
Most importantly, all eight pens have been tested as writing. However, these appear to be non-refillable pens, so when they’re out of ink—which could be any time—that’s it, they’re done. Lastly, the pens have good balance, proper mass, and feel great on paper with the cushioned fine tip rollerball!
