For sale: one Logan Framer's Edge 660 Mat Cutter.
This is the same as the current model, now called the Logan Elite 660-1 Mat Cutter. This cutter is ca. 62 inches long and can cut 40 x 60-inch sheets of mat board. Another advantage of this cutter is that, unlike most other Logan models, it has both straight cutters and bevel cutters permanently mounted on a guide rail all the time. There is no need to swap cutters for cutting mat board to size or cutting bevels.
Using the Squaring Arm, which is at right angles to the cutters, you can precisely cut mat board to the size you want with straight cuts. It has a stop that allows repeated cuts if you have several mats of the same size to cut.
For cutting bevel mats, you mount the Mat Guide and set the width of the mat window, register the end of the mat board to the Squaring Arm and the Mat Guide and pencil onto the mat board the rectangle for the mat window. This pencil outline allows you to double-check the size of the window opening prior to cutting, and shows you where to start and stop the bevel cutter. There are guides on the bevel cutter that show you exactly where to start and stop the bevel cuts, based on your pencil outline, that allow for the blade and thickness of the mat board and give perfect mat window corners with no gaps or over-cuts. There are also stops that can be added for batch-processing multiple mats with identical windows.
This a well-executed precision designed tool for professional framers and serious artists who do a lot of matting and want a professional tool.
