This listing is for a (Leblanc) Normandy "plateau" Bb soprano clarinet. A "plateau" style clarinet has all solid keys with pads (no rings), which is particularly useful for players who have difficulty covering the rings of a standard clarinet. These are relatively rare. Leblanc made several variations based on the same basic design. This is a plastic body Normandy model.

This instrument is in excellent physical condition; however, it needs new pads. It actually does not currently have any pads installed in the key cups. I think someone started an overhaul on it but only got as far as removing the pads and then put it back together for whatever reason. That is a little odd, but at least you can see that all the parts are present. Please read on for details about the condition of this instrument.

The plastic body is in excellent condition. It has not sustained any damage. There are no chips to tenons or tone holes. There are minor scratches and scuffs from normal use. The keys are all operating as they should. The nickel plate finish has dulled ever so slightly with age but shows no noticeable wear. Again, it will need all new pads, and corks. This instrument comes in its original case, which is also in very good condition. It shows normal wear and tear to the interior and is odor free. There are some minor scuffs, but no damage to the exterior shell. There is no mouthpiece, nor any other accessories included.
