You need a 40 watt appliance bulb to make it work. Didn't think that would travel well so it's not included. Can buy at almost any store (even grocery store). Takes about 45 min or so for the "lava" to start to flow. It does get hot while running (needs a warm temp to be able to melt the wax), so please just realize that. Fun item, great display.

Lava lamp works as expected. Liquid is clear (colorless), glass has a range of colors, rainbow like (red to green to blue/purple). Stand and cap are decorated in geometric triangles with multiple colors. Very cool looking lamp, working as expected.
