First of all before messaging me about this badge you should look at the category and see what it is listed under. All you so called experts can move right on. Go bother someone else or get blocked. I'm not an expert on badges but based on the information I received from another "EBAY BADGE EXPERT" this badge was issued in the Millennium as a Commemorative Badge for the Los Angeles Sheriff Department and it was designed like an old 40's style badge or something. I don't know. Here is what I do know. The badge is absolutely stunning in person. It weighs 57.2 grams. I've never seen another one like it and whether real or not it is a 100% conversation starter and stunning to look at. If you want to add a piece to your collection that none of your buddies or friends or colleagues have, then do it or move on. I collect stuff too and I think it's nice to have pieces that other people don't have whether real or not.
