 You are bidding on a used Konica-Minolta DiMAGE Scan Elite 5400 35mm Slide/Film Scanner. The scanner works flawlessly and is in mint condition physically. This unit has been fully tested for ALL functionality and has performed excellently (for several hundred images). Basically, this superb scanner is ready to go for archiving all your old media. 
The pictures provided are of the actual unit and accessories you are bidding on. I have also provided an example slide scan produced by this unit, with zoomed in sections. This was scanned at 5400dpi, auto focus, auto white balance, no grain reduction. (slide courtesy of Tom Gildersleeve, an excellent fellow active in the train/photo/scanner community).

 This is a wonderful tool to transfer your old 35mm media into great looking Photos. One of the best desktop 35mm scanners ever made, it can scan up to an amazing 5400dpi and has several great features such as digital ICE. Digital ICE is an amazing feature that automatically removes dust and scratches (using a fourth IR channel, in addition to RGB, to detect dust/scratches, which the software then uses surrounding pixels to replace). 

 Overall I've been extremely happy with the results this scanner has provided.  The Digital ICE does an amazing job cleaning up imperfect media with very little impact on the image sharpness. These DSE5400's do have a slight magenta tint to their raw output (a common feature of this model) but that is easily corrected in the software, either in the scanner or in post using tools such as Photoshop.

Software Note:  
     The supplied original Minolta "DiMAGE Scan" software operates on both Windows and Macintosh platforms. The manufacturer's CD included is the original version that came with the scanner and I have also burnt the last available versions of the Windows and Mac software and documentation to an "Update CD".  PLEASE NOTE HOWEVER, this OEM software is limited to VERY old versions of Windows and Mac, as follows:
  • Macintosh; Macintosh OSX; Macintosh OSX 10.2; Macintosh OSX 10.3; Macintosh OSX 10.4
  • Windows 2000; Windows 98; Windows 98SE; Windows ME; Windows NT4.0; Windows XP
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND using a third party application like the superb Vuescan64 by Hamrick software. Not only does this software support all modern OS's, the software operates FAR faster than the OEM and the developer Edward Hamrick does a superb job supporting his application.
