Description

Kolossus Flex Battery Power & Ground Wire
Kolossus Flex Power / Ground Battery Cable consists of oversized, fine stranded, tinned Oxygen Free Copper (99.99%). Applications include automotive, marine, mobile audio, and solar. By design, we increased the surface area of our cables to allow for higher current loads.
This product uses tinned copper, which prevents oxidation from occurring. Tinned
OFC makes this battery cable suitable for high moisture applications such
as car audio, marine, automotive, RV, ATV, power converters and solar
applications.
Our ultra flex jacket allows for incredible flexibility and maintains exceptional resistance to abrasion, oil, and extreme temperatures (-40 to 105 C). Colors available include black, blue, red, and silver (clear)

Plain and Simple Specifications
All KnuKonceptz Cable Products clearly state these specifications
- Wire type - CCA or OFC These materials are commonly used, but not commonly stated when shopping online. Know what you are purchasing. Both metals are capable of performing up to their rated loads.
- American Wire Gauge Wire gauge is crucial to powering your system correctly. Undersized cable will create unsafe conditions and may shorten your amplifier's life.
- Max Load (amps) Wire's ampacity changes with gauge and materials. KnuKonceptz does not rate cable based on watts. Amplifier manufactures do not always truthfully state the output of their product, check your on board fuses!

True American Wire Gauge (AWG) Products
- Using American Wire Gauge standards, the gauge of stranded wire is determined by the total area of the conductor.
- To calculate this you would take the area of each strand and add it together. This area, in square mm, then determines gauge.
- Diameter is not as critical with stranded wire, this is due to the tiny air gaps between each strand. Diameter may fluctuate with strand size and how tightly wound the rope of the cable is.
- The smaller the number, the larger the wire, until you reach zero or aught (0). From zero, you then have double aught (00 or 2/0), three aught (000 or 3/0) ...
- All Kolossus Battery Cable exceed American Wire standards for their published gauge.

Tinned Copper - What the Pros Recommend
- When bare copper is exposed to oxygen, it oxidizes over time (turns brown/green).
- These contaminants are damaging to the cable's ability to conduct electricity.
- Tin provides a protective barrier from oxygen to the bare copper underneath.
- By adding a thin layer of tin to each strand, the cable is no longer able to oxidize.
- Tin does not react with oxygen and therefore the cable will never change color or have any change in its ability to conduct electricity
Product FAQ
Q: How do I order 18 feet of cable?
A: If the length you need is not available in the drop down menu, please see our by the foot listings. Any continuous length is possible.
Q: Can this battery wire be used as ground wire too?
A: Yes, there is no physical difference between power or ground battery cable. We do recommend using two different color wires to differentiate between positive and negative connections though.
Q: Why is this copper wire silver in color?
A: Our Kolossus Kable is tin coated Oxygen Free Copper. Tin provides a protective barrier from oxygen to the bare copper underneath. By coating the opper strands in tin, your cable will never oxidize or tarnish. Meaning your cable will last longer than your vehicle.
Q: Is this 0 Gauge or 1/0 Gauge Wire?
A: On the American Wire Gauge scale, 0 and 1/0 are equal. A 1/0 (one aught) cable literally means "one zero" or "0". The next larger size cable is 2/0 (two aught) "00" which is also called double aught. This continues to 3/0, 4/0 and so on. Going smaller in size from 0 you would then have 1, 2, 4 gauge etc...
