The X-SL series are the lightest chains in their class, furthermore, because of the weight reduction the chain has many important benefits such as super fast shifting, smoother action and even a significant reduction of "Chain-Suck". The open inner plate construction facilitates the removal of dirt from within the drive train. The hollow pin is riveted according to KMC's new "LAT STEP" process, sealing the outerplate with an impressive 350 kilo's of pinpower, making it the strongest chain connection in the industry today. KMC has been making chains for many years and now produce over 80 million a year for a wide range of companies, including Shimano. Fitting is a simple with the KMC missing link system (very similar to SRAM's powerlink in use) so for those of you who are very particular in your maintenance and cleaning removal and refitting is tool-free and simple.
