Our new seat brace is designed SPECIFICALLY FOR THE NEW STYLE KIRKEY seats with the reinforcement ridge in the middle. If you have an older or other flat style seat, you can use our original style seat brace and save a little money.
This is a seat brace for attaching the driver's seat to the harness bar of a roll bar or cage, such as mandated by the NHRA for drag racing. Ours is easily adjustable if you need to move the seat to multiple positions for different drivers. It is not required to remove this brace from the car to adjust the length.
We see a lot of cars that do not have these. Technically that's a violation of the rules, but also a bad idea. In a crash, keeping your seat in place can prevent your head from hitting the roll bar!
Additionally, it will improve ergonomics in your car, as the seat will no longer flex backward on launch, moving the driver backward.
