This is an original antique brass Keuffel & Esser Co. surveyor's compass with original wood case. The case has the previous owner's name written on the inside of the cover and the date 1916. I am guessing this is the date that this compass was acquired. The compass functions fine and measures 3" in diameter. There is a brass piece that screws into the bottom of the compass that was included in the wood case. The wood case is also in great functioning condition. This is a rare piece.
