Official and original typewritten and watermarked employment record of Jerzy Rodziewicz on the MS Batory.

Translation:
"As of 23rd this month, we are moving you to the position of acting 3rd officer of the MS Batory for the duration of cruise No. 25 and the trip to the fjords.
Your salary during the period of performing the function of 3rd officer will amount to 425 zlotys, -/four hundred twenty-five/ gross per month.
We recommend that you pass on your current duties to Mr. Bystydzinski for the duration of the 3rd officer's replacement."

Jerzy served on several ships of the Gdynia America Line from 1936 through 1945, including the MS Batory, MS Sobieski, MS Chrobry, MS Morska Wola, SS Baltyk, and SS Boryslaw. Previously he was an apprentice on various ships from 1927-1933 from the time he was 18, including 24 months on a sailing ship.
