I made 2 of these so it's time to let one go. The steel plate is 12" x 4" x 1/4". The mahogany base is 18" x 4 3/4" x 1 3/4". The plate is removeable so you can use both sides.. I am also including 1 lb of 60 grit lapping compound to get you started. This is the traditional way a Japanese carpenter would lap the back of his plane blades. Lightly used. The plate is 1/4" of high grade steel. Plenty thick for lapping your blades. How do I know? Because I used it to lap a few blades.
