Jade and gemstone flashlights are one of the most important tools a jade buyer, carver, or vendor will ever need. After searching far and wide, we always felt disappointed with the quality of the gemstone flashlights we found on the market. That's why we've decided to have these lights special-made just for our purposes.
The body of the flashlight is machined out of stainless steel and brass fittings which are built to last a life time. The individual sections of the flashlight are tightly screwed together and contain silicon o-rings to prevent water and moisture from entering the unit. This is important in a jade workshop where the material is most often worked with machines that are water-cooled. The front tip of the flashlight focuses the light into a single narrow beam in order to penetrate deep into the stone. This is ideal for rough jade inspection. The tassel on the rear-end of the flashlight holds the fine-tip attachment which can be used for inspection of cabochons, cut stones, beads, or anything else where it is important for the light to be tightly directed into the piece (not spilling out the sides). The flashlight is operated with a single rear button with only two
modes, on and off. For us, this is important as it becomes tedious to
cycle through different flashing and dimming modes that one hardly ever
finds useful. The LED circuitry is simple. One color, cool white. Most multi-color flashlights eventually fail one LED at a time due to the nature of their circuitry. In our years of experience, that is not the case with these single-LED lights. The battery is a rechargeable Li-ion 18650 which is the standard for most modern flashlights. We also include the 110v wall charger for the battery. This unit does not have any wild or extravagant features. It does one thing and it does it well. It allows the viewer to peer deep into the gemstone to learn more about its internal nature.
*** IMPORTANT ***
When you receive your flashlight, unscrew the rear-end of it to remove the protective plastic circle that is in place to prevent someone from accidentally turning it on. Then screw the rear-end back on and use the flashlight as normal. This is also how you should change the battery when it runs low.

The front-end contains the protective glass and the delicate circuitry of the flashlight and is not intended.
*** Pay attention to the temperature of the unit. ***
These LED's are powerful and they generate a lot of heat. If you leave them on for too long, they can become very hot to the touch which can be dangerous for both the user and the circuitry. Avoid overheating by using the light for short intervals at a time.
