Descriptions
The core role of the ignition module:
① (Precise control of ignition timing According to engine speed, load, temperature and other parameters, the optimal ignition advance angle (i.e., the point at which the spark plug jumps off) is determined through the instructions of the ECU (trip computer) to ensure that the mixture is fully combusted in the cylinder)
② Generate a high-voltage electric spark (converts the low voltage of 12V from the battery into a high-voltage electricity of 15,000-30,000V, which generates an electric spark through the spark plug to ignite the mixture in the cylinder)
③Coordinate multi-cylinder ignition sequence (in multi-point EFI engines, triggering the ignition of each cylinder in a specific sequence to keep the engine running smoothly)
Ignition module working principle: signal reception, primary circuit control, high voltage generation, spark plug discharge
Note: If ignition problems occur, it is usually necessary to check the module power supply, signaling circuit or replace the parts.
The exact location of the ignition module depends on the vehicle model and type of technology, ranging from the traditional inside the distributor to the modern direct mounting on the spark plug. To pinpoint the exact location, a combination of vehicle model, engine type and ignition system design is required.
