Uses absolute encoder technology and memorizes origin zero. When turned on LCD displays actual sensor position and ready to measure. Reseting zero is not necessary. Of course zero can be set at any position for a different reference.

Unrelated topic.  We have a very spoiled pot belly pig that have changed our lives and the theme to the store. He gets several daily hugs, thus the name piggyhug. They make very unique additions to the family.
