Reproduction Dixco style hood tachometer for universal applications. This tach was a popular dealer installed accessory and was used by a number of high profile builders back in the day incuding Yenko Baldwin Garlits and others. Each tachometer features an electronic movement and reset to 0 once they receive 12 volts of power. Works with factory points style ignition and GM HEI. Any aftermarket ignition may need a module or convertor to give correct signal. Important: When using aftermarket ignition systems like Pertronix MSD or Accel the voltage output to the tachometer lead is generally higher than what a factory tachometer can handle. Factory tachometers can operate on voltage ranging from 11.2 to 14.7. Most aftermarket ignition systems generate over 18 volts

A voltage adapter is required in order to lower the voltage to the GM specification. Red wire goes to positive black wire is ground and green wire goes to tachometer.
