HJ Heinz Apple Butter Crock – Dual Labels – 1983 Limited Edition, Signed, with lid

This beautiful stoneware crock was one of a limited edition commissioned by HJ Heinz for their company’s employees in 1983.  These crocks were produced by Westerwald Pottery and were hand-thrown, making each a unique piece.  Additionally, each of these limited-edition crocks were signed and dated by its potter.  It is noteworthy that most other Heinz crocks have a single label.  These “employee” crocks have two labels which are fired onto the crock.  On one side is the colorful Heinz’s Apple Butter label.  On the other side is the cobalt blue Heinz, Pittsburgh, Pickling label. This piece makes a lovely display of nostalgia in your home…kind of warms the heart.

The crock measurements: Approximate height = 6 ½” (lid on), 5 ½” (lid off). Approximate diameter =5 ¼” (outer bottom), 5” (internal).  On this piece there are 3 small chips on the bottom and 1 on the lid (see photos included).
