Hasselblad Magnifying Hood/Chimney Finder/Prism To Rollei Rolleiflex TLR Adapter

You'll not easily find a Rollei made fixed chimney finder for the Rolleiflex/Rolleicord, which are definitely not as common as the Hasselblad magnifying hood / chimney finder with its adjustable eye sight diopter (even Irving Penn had to bodge a Hasselblad chimney finder on his Rolleiflex!! - see last image). 

So we designed a custom 3D-printed adapter to allow the Hasselblad magnifying hood / chimney finder (which are plentiful and relatively cheap here on eBay) to be used on any of the late Rollei TLR cameras with the interchangeable finder feature (such as the Rolleiflex T, E2, E3, F, GX/FX, Rolleicord VB and Rollei Magic I and II - please check your Rollei has a user removable WLF first). Perfect for people like me with failing eye sight, who need the diopter correction feature.

The adapter has been carefully custom designed to match the style and looks of Rolleiflex/Rolleicords when fitted. Any other Hasselblad V fitting viewfinder will also fit it via its slip in method (the same as the Hasselblad V viewfinder fitting) and it has been tested across a range of finders for fit and function - see images. It is made out of tough eSun PLA+ filament and has a hardened steel rod reinforced front section to make that section more rigid for the heavier viewfinders. The base is flock lined for a snug fit and to protect the camera top, and it has a steel fitting pin at its rear, the same as the Rollei WLF.

Important - please note that late Rollei TLRs have an automatic parallax viewfinder system which moves a square black mask up or down under the focus screen to account for the different view that the taking lens will see in comparison to the viewing lens when a subject is close or far away. Because of the this the Rollei screen is actually a slight rectangle and not square like a Hasselblad SLR. This means that when you fit a standard Hasselblad V type prism that presents just a square view, it may crop the view of the Rollei viewing screen when the camera is focused at certain distances. 

The Hasselblad magnifying hood / chimney finder and waist level finder have a very wide view that will see the whole Rollei screen perfectly at all focus distances, whereas the Hasselblad PM, N2 and Russian type prisms have a much smaller square view and may crop the top and bottom off the cameras screen view sometimes, depending on subject distance/position of the parallax adjusted screen crop - please see images which show the visual size difference of different finder crops as examples.

  Additional Information

The adapter is made of eSun Black PLA+ 3D printing filament which is strong, robust and makes nice quality prints. It is printed using the finest printer settings, however they may have small marks here and there from the 3D printing process as the printer layers the molten plastic filament on to the printers bed surface and from the cleaning up of the final print, but these will not effect the functionality. The PLA+ material can also be lightly sanded and sprayed to change the finish if you so wish.

Worldwide Postage - Items are usually sent either Royal Mail 'International Standard' (insured for £20 and not tracked by user, but tracked by Royal Mail), 'International Tracked' (insured for either £50 or £250 depending on item value and tracked by user) or UPS (for items worth more the £250 and tracked by user).

All items will be shipped within 2 working days. Shipping will be combined for multiple items, but please contact us for a combined shipping price if that is your intention as prices may still vary depending on the combined weight and insurance.
