This hand painted decorative bird house was beautifully done by an accomplished local porcelain artist Margery Scherschligt of Lansing, MI. Margery passed recently and I was fortunate to get a collection of her work. Her pieces are signed Margery, M. Scherschligt or M.S. and in a few cases, not signed at all. Regardless of signature her work is a combination of artistry and technique with a beautiful use of color. I will be listing many pieces of her work in the weeks to come.
The delicate floral pattern Margery used on this birdhouse would make it perfect for a bird or outdoor themed room - maybe in the guest room or a bathroom. It has holes for a perch and a rope or wire for hanging. It is not signed but is part of her collection. The house measures 5" x 4" x 4.5".
