Here is a well-crafted, affordable European alternative to a mass produced rental instrument offering superior sound and a striking appearance. It’s a good condition, full size vintage German Stradivarius model violin, from the Pfretzschner luthiers of Mittenwald, Bavaria. It’s always a pleasure to discover a classic, finely built instrument that has escaped the ravages of time and rough handling. This is one such instrument. At over half a century old, it is structurally excellent, crack-free, repair-free, without open seams or apparent issues of any significance. A few minor scratches, nicks and minimal varnish wear enhance the antique patina of this eye-catching violin. Even has the original working a440 tuner built into the end pin - a fun signature feature of the period.

The moderate grain of the spruce top and the gorgeously flamed maple of the one-piece back and lovely matching sides and scroll are both solid, well-chosen tone woods highlighted by a brilliant golden brown varnish. This violin produces a rich, singing tone across its entire range. The 1969 Strad copy reflects the quality lineage of fine German trade instruments going back over a century - and they just don’t make them like they used to.

Add a violin with character and history to your collection at a sensible price. Or stop making payments on a lesser rental instrument and pick up this great looking, sweet sounding violin for the student in your life. Packed carefully in a solid case with good latches, includes a bow, rosin, new strings, new chin rest - this outstanding outfit arrives ready to play.
