How To Test Gem
- STEP 1: If all the indicators of the thermal conductivity meter are on after turning on the machine, it means that the switch is not in the correct position. In this case, turn the switch dial to the left until one indicator of the thermal conductivity meter is on.
- STEP 2: After preheating, the thermal conductivity meter needs to be calibrated.Calibration requires a piece of glass. Place the glass flat on the table and touch the thermal conductivity meter probe vertically to the glass surface. Note that your hand should touch the metal plate on the back of the thermal conductivity meter.
- STEP 3: Keep the thermal conductivity meter probe vertically in contact with the glass, turn the roller upward, and the fifth indicator light will be on.Calibration is completed (in order to obtain accurate measurement results, it is best to calibrate once for each hardness measurement)
- STEP 4: After calibration, immediately move the thermal conductivity meter probe to the ore to be tested. After vertical contact, remember to place your hand on the metal plate behind you and stabilize it for 2-3 seconds: If 7 indicators are on, the hardness is 7, which is agate (the hardness of each gem is different, you can refer to one of the values)
