This is a genuine Mother of Pearl "Gibson" with the centerpiece "Keystone" sometimes called the "Crown" inlay set for restoration work.  I've had these in my shop for a while and from a time when you could actually purchase these.  I have a few available for sale and when they are gone they are gone!

Please note: this is White mother of Purl but may have seen colorations of red, green and blue but these are very superficial. In other words, they have personality just like all other pieces of white mother of Purl. I do not know of any pure white mother of pearl in existence today.

These logos were cut with a finer bit so as not to make the inset or pass-through cuts look wide like all of the others I've seen available, and these are coming from Virginia, USA, not China!

The thickness of these sets measure in a range between 0.045" and 0.066" and they are made of high quality, SOLID MOTHER OF PEARL, never from "Abalam" or scrap pieces of pearl glued together... these are real! These are the best, most authentic looking pearl sets I've seen for the late 1950s Gibson Les Paul and for Gibson Bowtie Banjos made in the the 1950s and early 1960s with the detached dot for the letter "I" in Gibson.

Some variations in inlay will naturally occur in old original work, so these may not fit in the pocket or cavity of your instrument if the original pearl happened to fall out, but these are an extremely good likeness and size of the originals and these are the ONLY ones I have ever seen that actually look like the originals!  That means that these are great for restoration work and to replace missing or damaged original inlay.

All of the measurements can clearly be seen in the photographs (metric people - please convert as I only have room for 12 photographs, sorry).  Please ask any questions that you like and thank you for looking.

Don't let these get away... when they're gone, they're gone!

Thank you for looking!
