I have 4 different Fruit Kids of the 6 originally produced and all are listed separately. I am happy to combine for shipping if you choose more than one. Miss Stella here is in nice condition.... there are the expected bits of tip and paint wear like all old original finish chalkware, and some crazing lines in the thick paint that was applied over the chalk plaster, but no major cracks, chips or repairs that are distracting.
The group was known as the 1942 PeeDee Fruit Kids. Distributed by the Pitman-Dreitzer Company of New York (hence the PeeDee) and made by Carlton Ware; there is Stella Strawberry, Albert Apple, Lee Lemon, Penny Pineapple, Billy Banana, and Charlie Cherry. All are marked on their base, and it is the latter two I don't have.
Stella (previous owner named her Susie) is a good candidate to sand and repaint if you care to restore her to like new, but as she is she exudes a sweet vintage primitive charm. Cute addition to an anthropomorphic kitchen kitsch collection!
