Maker: England's iconic china company Royal Crown Derby produced this exceptional gold trimmed covered sugar bowl.

Design: It's in the classic red and blue Imari pattern called Traditional Imari, which was produced from 1891 to 2014. It's pattern number 2451 and this sugar bowl is in the Heraldic shape. Its finely painted design extends to the inner rim where tiny red, blue and gold scrollwork gives it an additional touch of distinction.

Marks and age: An old paper label is on the base, partially hiding the mark and making it more difficult to know precisely when the sugar bowl was produced. The red mark that's visible - with "Royal Crown Derby" in an arc above the crown - was in use from 1921 to 1964. Source: Royal Crown Derby website.

Condition: There are no marks, chips, cracks, scratches, stains, discoloration, repairs or significant wear. There is a tiny nick on the bowl's upper edge and light wear to the handles - it's visible in the photos.

Size: The sugar bowl is about 5 1/2 inches long between the far ends of the handles, 2 1/8 inches wide at the center and 3 1/2 inches tall at the top of the handles. It weighs 6.9 ounces.

Please check all the photos very carefully - they are an important part of the description.
