I have sold all of my Late Fathers KD Kemp slides in the past,except this one which is probably the best one my Late Father owned.
It is a truly an outstanding arrangement and absolutely Exclusive being prepared in celebration of the Postal Microscopes Societies 125th Anniversary in 1998.To make it even more exclusive it is an arrangement of Diatoms in the shape of a Microscope itself, and is annotated with the wording PMS 1998 also
I believe constructed with Diatoms rather than diamond scribe. I also believe the whole of the Microscope frame is constructed with Diatoms as well.But I'm not certain on that either. But Kemp was a World expert with Diatom exhibition arrangements must surely have used them for the wording , date and the Microscope frame itself for this most prestigious Societies 125th Year Anniversary commemorative slide.
I am afraid my actual down the tube photo view shown in this listing is the only view I have that my Late Father had , and hence one must presume at much higher resolution all the Diatom structures can be seen.
As mentioned this is the Last of my Late Fathers Kemp slides and by far the most precious, I don't know how many of this arrangement KD Kemp produced for this Anniversary, but I imagine only a few, if not just this one, and it may be a Unique one off. I have no idea ,and I cant ask my Father unfortunately.
But I am sure it can be regarded as a World wide highly desirable slide to own ,so all I can say is DONT MISS IT, you may never see one again in a life time.
Also please note it is in lovely mint condition, and probably only ever viewed and handled a few times.
