It is a carefree tree which can be kept small for outdoor/indoor enjoyment. It has low feeding requirements and appreciates slightly acidic soil with good drainage. This Eucalyptus does not want to be overly wet, and it enjoys sunny locations. If you live in a region in which this plant can be dug in outdoords, position it so that it has enough space to thrive as it matures. Even as the tree is maturing, you can prune it quite readily if you feel like taking branches for your own bouquets. |
Description | You know the foliage on this Eucalyptus: This evergreen shows off familiar blue-gray disks positioned along tall and thin branches. Florists love to include these in arrangements. This attractive foliage looks just about the same whether fresh or dried, so you will find many uses for it. Typically blooming in spring and then again in fall, its small creamy flowers serve as an enhancement to its attractive foliage, which is petite and blue enough to give it its name Baby Blue. While this plant should be avoided by dogs and cats, bees flock to the foliage when they are looking for cover. And both outdoors and indoors, it is absolutely great in containers! |
