The Steampipe is a true physical modelling synthesizer developed in close collaboration with Dutch company 112.dB.
The Steampipe has no conventional oscillators. Instead, it mimics the way sound is created in wind instruments and it is fine-tuned to create a wide range of sounds - everything from wind instruments to strings, pipe organs, crazy effects and beyond. The Steampipe has three major sections – STEAM, PIPE and REVERBERATOR.
The STEAM section can be compared to the lungs and mouth of a musician. The generator creates the flow of air or “steam”, the envelope in this section determines the force with which it is blown out. DC/noise is the noise you get when blowing out. DC/Noise on the Steampipe can also be replaced with an external audio source.
The PIPE section can be compared to a flute. In the pipe, the tune is formed. Push (in feedback) bounces the steam like it does in a flute and generates the tone. The delay box subsection changes the flute’s tuning and shape.
The REVERBERATOR adds space and ambience to the sound.
The Steampipe is optimized for performance with wind MIDI controllers and it works great with any MIDI keyboard. The overtones the Steampipe produces are very organic and rich and it comes with great-sounding presets. The Steampipe is rather versatile and allows for nuanced sonic exploration, conjuring sonic imagery ranging from from wisps of cloud to fairground band organs, then to industrial horns of the railroad and finally, to massive, otherworldly ambiences.
In most cases, orders are processed and shipped within one business day. Orders placed before 1pm US Pacific time during the week are generally shipped the same day. Contact us with any questions or special requests and we will do our best to accommodate you.
We offer free shipping on most items over $99 to destinations within the continental US. Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico, and international destinations will require shipping and handling charges. We ship to most countries in the world via FedEx or USPS; most international orders are delivered within 5 business days of shipment, barring unforeseen delays caused by customs or weather conditions.
We insure each package for its full value and require signature for most orders. International customers, take note that you are responsible for all duties and taxes imposed by your local government or customs officials. These fees are not included in our shipping/handling charges.
We are pleased to offer an extended warranty service, which in most cases covers you gear for one year beyond the expiration of the manufacturer's warranty. This free warranty means that you can always come to us in the event of a problem, even within the window of the manufacturer's warranty. Note that some specific items may not qualify for this service.

We offer risk-free returns for most new items in our catalog. Most items purchased from Perfect Circuit have a 30-day return policy starting from the date of shipment. If a return is initiated within 15 days of the original shipment date, no restocking fees will be charged.
Note, however, that outgoing shipping costs will be charged for change-of-mind returns and faulty/warranty claim returns which we are unable to verify.
Some specific types of items are not eligible for returns—including (but not limited to) apparel, microphones, headphones, consumable goods, and media. Additionally, our return policy does not cover items damaged outside the course of normal use, nor does it cover items modified by customers or damaged due to use of improper power supply voltages. Please contact us with any questions regarding return eligibility.

Returns of new items made beyond the 15-day risk-free returns cutoff—as well as returns of Demo, B-Stock, or Used items—are subject to a 15% restocking fee. If an item is returned within the 15-day window but is damaged, missing its box or accessories, or is otherwise unfit for resale, a restocking fee will be charged.
