This is made from soft laser cut 1.5mm Stainless Steel. It has been rumbled to make it smooth and give it an abraded surface that also helps give a better seal, plus removes all sharp edges.

It gives a cleaner pickup at lower revs because it stops exhaust gas being recycled. If the EGR valve is playing up, then the improvement can be quite dramatic. The engine management light should not come on because of blanking the EGR in the Peugeot's and Citroen's.

The PSA DW10UTED4 2.0L RHK 120HP and RHJ RHK 136 HP engines only, pictured above.

Will not fit the older 16 valve DW10ATED4 which has an Aluminium inlet manifold- that takes item number 111125022659, or the 8 Valve engine DW10ATED which takes item number 110934076443 or the 1.9L engine which I don't do a plate for.

   If the light was on before fitting the plate because the valve is stuck open, then the light may still come on, as the valve is monitored as to whether it is open or closed, via its electrical connection. Unplugging it will not help, as that will put the light on as well.

   PLEASE CHECK THAT IT IS THE ENGINE IN THE PICTURES, as the later engine has a very different EGR system with a throttle body, and the oil filler cap is on the left of the engine, not on the right as pictured.

Easy to fit blanking plate though hard to get to, fits between EGR valve and exhaust gas recirculate pipe and there is no need to remove EGR or recirculate pipe to fit. Remove the engine cover ( pull to the front and up slightly) Just undo the two nuts ( but not take of), pull the EGR pipe up, slip the plate in, and re-tighten the nuts. There is no gasket fitted from new.

Benefits of blocking EGR

   1. Cleaner engine oil helping to give longer engine life.

   2. Turbo spooling up quicker, and at lower revs

   3.  Prevents soot build up in intake manifold, and valve's, which will lower the power

   4. Smoother drive

   5. Less smoke, so will help it pass the MOT (UK)

   6. Less soot to trap in the DPF/FAP, so less regeneration's
