In the style of Edgar Berebi's 'The Vasila Sister Egg'Edgar Berebi's 'The Vasila Sister Egg' is the Third in a series of three eggs that Berebi designed and dedicated to his inspiration - Gregory Leonid Bernardsky (1919-1994).
A Really solid display piece for a collector
The three eggs are dedicated to Bernardsky's three sisters - Illiana, Anna, and Vasila. This auction is for the Vasila Egg only.
Doesn't seem to have any official hallmark and is missing a couple of the gemstones on egg itself
The beautiful guilloche enamel background is done in Royal Purple. The egg is divided into triangles, four on the top section, and four on the bottom section. The outlining for the triangles is done in gold plated lines (as is all the other gold on the piece). Inside each triangle crossing is a stem/leaf/flower design, scattered with sparkling clear Swarovski crystals. At the very top of the dome is a gold flower with petals dipping down into the purple enamel sections. Inside, the top section are three designs done in white enamel. The symbols are a circle for the sun, the heart of love, and a triangle for the Godhead.
Around the inside edge is engraved a beautiful poem: It was written during WW2, on the wall of a cellar, by a Jew in the Cologne concentration camp. I believe in the sun, even when it is not shining, I believe in love, even when feeling it not
I believe in God, even when he is silent.
