In 1990, existing stocks of armed forces and police uniforms in East Germany had these cloth badges removed as they transitioned into West Germany. These badges were replaced by the bullseye patch as used in West Germany and the converted articles were used until the new members could be provided with West German uniforms. This is a lot of 20 of these removed badges and some of them look unused. They are about the size of a quarter.
