ITEM DESCRIPTION


Up for your consideration is a heavy patinated bronze sculpture depicting a nude tribal figure of a man. It is freestanding, and measures 13" tall, 3 3/4" wide, and 2 3/4" deep. There are some scratches, weathering, and general wear on the sculpture. Otherwise, it is in overall good condition. This Hemba ancestor figure has a unique beard. This is an older vintage/antique sculpture.  


The Hemba are a people living in the province of Katanga (Congo Rdc) between the Congo River and the Lake Tanganyika. They are geographically and culturally close to the Luba. Their ancestors figures represent the deceased leaders, venerated by the tribe, and are thought to help their successors to legitimize their political power. They offer a simultaneous impression of majesty and great serenity.

RETURN/REFUND POLICY:  We offer a full refund policy, but we must be contacted through eBay within 7 days after receiving the item. If a refund is requested, the buyer is to pay return shipping fees. The refund will be made once the item is back in our possession, and that it arrives in the same condition that it was sent.
