These 'steel door adapters' are utilized in conjunction with Honeywell 4191WH-V-PLEX recessed reed door security contacts, when door security contacts are installed on a steel door or steel window. The plastic 'steel door adapter' provides non-magnetic spacing between the body of the contact switch (magnet) and the surrounding structure, to reduce the steel's (iron's) effect on the operation of the contact.

Drill a 3/4" hole at the location selected for the steel door adapter. The steel door adapter snaps snugly into a 3/4" drilled hole.
