This is a vintage antique sample of wire fencing. This sample features a John D. Curtis patent, dated April 08, 1893. Henry M. Underwood patent, dated August 06, 1878. This wire is called "Curtis Four Strand Ladder Wire with Metal Connective Clips Lines", by collectors. (ref Hagemeier 25-A). This wire features two pairs of twisted together line wires. Line wire pairs are set parallel to each other and are 1-1/4" apart. Each pair of line wires are connected by a metal clip. This is a barbless wire. Wire sample is 18"in length, and shows light pitting. There are six clips, which are well spaced, but cut is not well centered. There are no broken, or missing barbing points..
